Earlier, Erik Davis told you the Sin City team was tired of waiting on Angelina Jolie and was moving on to make Rachel Weisz the "Dame to Kill For." This is generally a good move in my opinion, because I'm tired of waiting for Sin City 2, although Erik did make an interesting point when he said "However, Weisz -- um -- she's cute and all, but I wouldn't kill for her." So replacing Jolie for time considerations is fine, but we're not sure what we think of Weisz as the replacement. Okay, I hear ya. How about we instead suggest a different name for the part? Film Ick says they were given a different name for the role -- although they admit up front they have nothing solid to substantiate what they were told. Thus far, that puts them in the same general camp as the Rachel Weisz rumors, though, so hey, why not entertain them? So ... how do you feel about one Rose McGowan? You probably know her from Charmed, but the actress does have at least some minor connection with the Sin City team -- she's appearing in Rodriguez and Tarantino's Grindhouse flick. What do you think? Would you be willing to kill for Rose McGowan?

Hell yea, I've always been a fan of Rose. Not so much her acting, but of her dark, almost goth beauty. I'm so sick of the tan/blonde typical hollywood look. I like the pale, dark hair, red lip look. She carries it well, without looking fake, and put on.
I'd "kill" for Rose, and to see Sin City 2

Only Rodriguez for pondering putting such a bad actress in his film. Though he does have a way of dragging great performances out of middling actors.

The Film Ick article is crap. It was about Rachel Weisz taking the role, not Rose and the writer put Rose's name out just to get her publicly. Read the article to see what i mean.
The writer himself admits to putting out the rumor for her, so Rose is not even in the running for the film.

Rose McGowan is not in Sin City 2. Here is proof that the writer of the article made it up.
"So many conflicting reports - to which, I admit, I am adding, though with the best intentions."
He added the Rose McGowan rumor because he got burn by a source and is trying to save face.

The Rose McGowan rumor sounds fake and made up. Probably by her own people.

I am the guy at film ick that received the Rose McGowan mail in the first place. I know the person who sent it is linked to Robert Rodriguez - they've given good info before that came true. On the other hand, though, they seem to have it in for Rose. What I didn't report in the piece initially - it being unnecessary - was how damning they were of Rose's performance(s) in Grind House.
We'll see how it shakes out. I somehow doubt either of these women will see the part - but I was simply sharing the info I received.

Even more proof that the rumor is a lie, this is from Film Ick:
"Well, for my part, I just thought of the old Rose McGowan titbit I was e-mailed and thought "What the heck. Now's the time to share it, if ever I will".
Yea, it was put out there by her own people.

hmmm,i don't know about her being in the role, jolie is definitely THE actress for the role in my opinion and if she's not to do it then id be delighted with weisz in the role but im not big on the prospect of mcgowan in it.anything ive seen her in shes been adequate in nothing more or less whereas jolie and weisz are top notch actresses.

The Rose McGowan article sounds like a PR stunt by her reps to get her name in the running.

Considering that Rose has been rumored to be the cause behind Rodriguez and his wife divorcing this should come as a shock to no one. Not that Rodriguez was ever in danger of becoming a great filmmaker, but perhaps he should give Peter Bogdanovich a call and see how well hitching his wagon to the starlet he was dating worked out for him.

If you read the Film Ick article, you would notice that the writer sounded like angry fan boy of Rose McGowan trying to put her name out there because Rachel Weisz was in talks to take the role. You would notice also that the article is really about Rachel Weisz taking the role, not Rose McGowan. So in reality, Rose is not up for the role.

Rose is for more kill-worthy than Rachel any day. She's got some serious sultry going on that Ms. Weisz just could not achieve.
That said, considering how incredible Carla Gugino looked in the first one, I imagine they could make any attractive woman that much more Helenesque.

I like Rachel Weisz, but I'd prefer Monica Bellucci over her. That goes for the roles of Wonder Woman or Talia Al Ghul too.
As for Rose McGowan, I'd say in terms of her other female castmates from *The Black Dahlia*:
Jemima Rooper > Rose McGowan.
